HOW YOU CAN HELP US!

Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world. With a population of over 130 million people, there are an estimated 13 million people with disabilities in Bangladesh. Medical and therapy services for these people has been limited in the past. Today, there are many organisations working improve the services available to the disabled people of Bangladesh. Many of these services have the goals of improving such people's quality of life by reducing their disability and poverty.

BOTA is one organisation working towards this goal. In a country where people with disabilities have historically not been offered services, BOTA faces an ongoing struggle to convince others of the need for, and value of Occupational Therapy in Bangladesh.

BOTA's members are endeavouring to undertake this task independently. However, there are many areas where assistance would be beneficial. BOTA invites any offers of assistance which may be in the form of:

Donation of Occupational Therapy text books, journals, articles, and other information.
Offers of information about Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment modalities and other areas of practice from countries where the profession is more developed.
Offers to act in the role of mentor, or to provide professional guidance via email to local Occupational Therapists, or Occupational Therapy students.
In addition to these things, there are possibilities for Occupational Therapists from around the world to have the opportunity to work alongside us in the development of the profession. Already many Occupational Therapists from different countries around the world (including Australia, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Canada, India, Germany) have visited CRP and BHPI to assist in developing Occupational Therapy. This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity, where you can use your professional skills for a very satisfying and worthwhile cause. If you are interested in this opportunity, or would like further information, do not hesitate to contact us, using the contact details provided, or email CRP at info@crp-bangladesh.org
